二、案例开展的意义和价值
本单元主题是旅游,第一篇课文讲述了为何年轻人应该旅游,侧重点在年轻人旅行的意义,第二篇课文介绍了一种观点,即每一个地方都是风景,都值得一去,不能因为是热门景点就排斥。通过这两篇课文的学习,学生能够体会到旅行的意义,体会到青年人所应具有的敢于探索、冒险的精神,在一定程度上能够陶冶情操。同时,学生能够运用课上所学习的词汇、短语和句式来介绍国内旅游景点,讲述旅行的意义,完成单元任务“在中国旅行”,由此激发学生对祖国风景的自豪感。
三、案例内容
本单元思政点:培养学生年轻时敢于冒险的探索精神,激发学生对祖国大好河山的热爱。

Your university is holding the “Traveling in China” Festival to encourage international students to visit China and explore what it has to offer. You and your classmates are going to give a presentation about a tourist destination in China. Which place will you choose? Why do you choose that place?

“We are what we repeatedly do.” The sentence is actually not from Aristotle, but from Will Durant in The Story of Philosophy: The Lives and Opinions of the World’s Greatest Philosophers. In the book, after quoting “these virtues are formed in man by his doing the actions” from Aristotle’s Ethics, he summarized the sentence as “… we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” 通过介绍课文中引用的Will Durant这句话,让学生思考习惯对人的重要性,引导学生在年轻时要养成好习惯,而旅行就是好习惯之一。

Pont des Arts Bridge: It is a pedestrianbridge in Paris which crosses the River Seine. 四、教学反思
1.思政元素仍需不断挖掘、选取合适材料
针对英语教材思政元素的结合点,仍需不断挖掘、商讨,要与时事相结合,与党的最新政策和方针相结合。
2.学生基础薄弱,词汇积累偏少
本单元为旅游主题,在涉及到国内旅游景点介绍时,学生难以用英语进行表达,对一些专有名词不知如何去表达。因此,仍要加强学生的词汇积累,在布置作业时,应让学生广泛搜寻相关材料,积累相关词汇。
